Stanley "Stan" Schultz, Jr.

Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Traditions of Saginaw.  Age 81 years.  The son of the late Stanley J.  and Mary (Yaruczewski) Schultz Sr., Stan was born on July 22, 1943 in Carrollton Township, Michigan.  He married Joyce Mary Hagerty on September 10, 1966. She predeceased him on February 7, 2020. Stan was employed at Central Foundry and Malleable Iron for 45 years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of Saginaw Field and Stream and the Pulaski Club. Stan was a former member of St. John Paul II Parish – St. Josaphat Catholic Church and current member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Not only was he an excellent and devoted caregiver to his wife, Joyce, that care extended to his grandchildren. Stan loved to pack the grandkids special lunches and eagerly looked forward to picking them up from school. Whether it be in the woods deer hunting, tending to his garden or simply watching the birds, Stan enjoyed being outdoors. Being the social butterfly Stan was, it was not uncommon to find him cutting his neighbors’ lawns and was the family and neighborhood “troubleshooter”. Stan’s life was deeply centered around his devout Catholic faith. Stan will long be remembered for his gift to strike up a conversation with a total stranger, his loyal support of Nouvel Sports, his joy of cooking truck driver breakfasts and taking impeccable care of his Chevy Suburbans.  Stan’s affectionate and devoted care of Joyce, over many decades, will always be remembered by his family.  They are so thankful they have finally been reunited together in Heaven.

Surviving are two children, Steven (Amy) Schultz, Saginaw; Stacie (Greg) Meter, Saginaw; three grandchildren, Sarah, Laura and David; two siblings, Kathy (John) Smith and Mary Jane Yatch; several nieces and nephews.  Stan was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Yatch.

The family would like express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff of Traditions of Saginaw for their compassionate care.
