William E. Federspiel
Passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Covenant Cooper. Age 79 years.
Bill was born September 13, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan and raised by his grandmother, Mildred Stier. He graduated from Saginaw High School. He married Anne Ward, April 11, 1964. His wife of 59 years survives him. Bill was employed as a Patternmaker with General Motors, retiring in 2008 with 46 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to the casino, camping, gardening, but most of all, his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife, Anne, are three sons and their wives, Bill and Jodie Federspiel; Jeffrey and Lori Federspiel; Brett Federspiel; five grandchildren, Brett M, Ethan, Caleb, Erik (Allison), and Joshua Federspiel; two great grandchildren, Greyson and Dawson; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Caroline Lofaro; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George Mentel; George and Margaret Ward; Jim Ward; Jane Jarecki; Janet Shockley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mildred Stier, a sister, Sharon Mentel, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and George Ward.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the memorial mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Cancer Society or Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.
