John F. Egloff
Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Age 90 years. Son of the late Lawrence and Jane (Shafer) Egloff, John was born October 7, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Irene Marie Patnick on June 10, 1950. She predeceased him October 28, 2013. John served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. He was owner of Egloff Real Estate. John served three terms as President of Saginaw Board of Realtors, and chairman of Saginaw Township Planning Commission. He receive Realtor Emeritus designation after 50 years of service from the National Association of Realtors, and past member of the Local National Board of Realtors. He was also a member of the Fordney Club, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Saginaw Country Club for over 40 years, and the Germania Club. John loved golfing, playing Gin Rummy, fishing trips with his sons and especially spending time with his family.
Surviving to cherish his memory are three daughters and three sons, John (Cindy) Egloff, Carmel, Indiana; Rick (Virginia) Egloff, Lawrenceburg, Indiana; Janice Collison, Saginaw; Jim (Keyla) Egloff, Driftwood, Texas; Sandy (Bob) Williamson, Traverse City; Sue (Matt) Ronayne, Farmington Hills; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. John was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Egloff and his brother, Edward Egloff.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439. Honoring Mr. Egloff’s wishes cremation will follow with private burial of cremains in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or American Legion Post #439.
