Romaine Mikolaski

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Francis Home. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late David and Martha (Kielpinski) Borowiak, Romaine was born July 25, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Edward Mikolaski, her loving husband of 70 years, on May 15, 1948. He survives her. Romaine was employed as a group manager at Michigan Bell and AT&T for 44 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she helped in many ways including the funeral luncheon committee. Romaine enjoyed traveling to every state in the union, reading and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband Edward are two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Gregory and Diane Mikolaski, Palm Coast, Florida; Jeffrey and Sandra Mikolaski, Saginaw; Martha and Dean Anderson, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Jason Mikolaski, Jenna (Major) Miller, Juanita McGilton, Mikala (Jeremy) DeVries, Grace (Patrick) Kille, Katrina, Natalie and Nicholas Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Bing, Sydney and Adelaide; a brother, Alan and Nancy Satkowiak, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Romaine was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin Mikolaski, and by five brothers and six sisters.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Mikolaski’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
