Heaven received a special man on May 1, 2025. Edwin (Eddie) Danilowicz passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and their love. Son of the late Henry and Mary (Milewicz) Danilowicz, Ed was born in Saginaw on January 24, 1934.
Eddie graduated from Saginaw High School followed by 2 years in the Field Artillery Branch of United States Army.
He married Arlene Larrucea his loving wife of nearly 68 years on July 20, 1957. They chose to remain in Saginaw to raise a family. Ed spent nearly 10 years working for Kruisbergs Nursery and went on to retire from Pepsi Cola where he spent nearly 40 years as a route driver in the Saginaw Area.
Ed was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church as well as the Pulaski Club. Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends at his Lake Mitchell cottage. He rarely missed a sporting event for his children and grandchildren here in Saginaw, where he and Arlene beamed with pride from the stands.
His long time love of vegetable gardening and planting flowers lasted well into his retirement. Ed and Arlene enjoyed jigsaw puzzles in the winters as well as hosting generous Christmas holidays with their 8 grandchildren. Eddie loved to decorate and celebrate all the holidays.
Surviving besides his wife Arlene are two daughters; LeeAnn (Arne) Larsen, their children Chelsee and Carlee Larsen and Debra Anderson, her children Grace, Luke, Joe, and Janey Anderson; daughter in-law, Kathleen Danilowicz, her children Andrew (Abbe) Danilowicz and Ashley (Derek) Resio, sister, Jeannie (Tom) Bucholz, brother in-law, Adolph Patzrik, sisters in-law, Carmen (Ron) Wolfram and Patricia Danilowicz and very special friends Peter Lea, Dan Strasz and Lynn Orwig. Many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors will also remember Ed fondly for always sharing his “project” knowledge, a helping hand, or a shot and a beer.
Along with his parents Ed was preceded in death by his son James Danilowicz, brother, Bobby Danilowicz, sisters, Victoria Gale and Mary Ann Patzrik and very special Godmother, Valentine Olszewski.
A special “Thank You” to the amazing staff that took care of Ed from AdvisaCare Hospice.
