Francisco Renteria Sr.
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather was called by his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Age 96 years. Son of the late Mercer and Juanita (Garcia) Renteria, Francisco was born February 25, 1926 in D’Hanis, Texas. He married Julia Aranjo on November 6, 1957. She predeceased him November 9, 2012. Francisco was employed at C&O Railroad retiring in 1989. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Francisco enjoyed his bird houses, gardening, watching golf and WWE Wrestling.
Surviving to cherish his memory are three sons, Robert Renteria, Saginaw; Ruben Renteria, Saginaw; Francisco Renteria Jr., Saginaw; two step- daughters and two step sons, Raymond Moreno, Saginaw; Connie Castillo, Saginaw; Mary (Ignacio) Lopez, San Antonio, Texas; Milo (Carol) Moreno, Saginaw; one daughter-in-law, Maria Moreno, Saginaw; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren ; one great-great grandson; one half-brother, Mercer Renteria, Laredo, Mexico; a half-sister, Juanita Renteria, Mexico; many nieces and nephews. Francisco was predeceased in death by a step-son Antonio Moreno; two grandsons, David Moreno and Estefan Lopez; three daughters-in-law, Juanita Renteria, Martha Moreno, Wanda Moreno; a step-son-in-law, Richard Castillo; two sisters and three brothers, Bertha Casarez, Martha Hernandez, Eulalio, Dimas and Nicholas Renteria.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Saginaw County Humane Society.
