Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Heritage Hill‘s assisted living in Caro Michigan. Age 98. Son of the late Albert P and Esmeralda W (Beierle) LeFevre. Albert was born September 18, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, he married Geraldine E. (Doerr) on June 24, 1950. They celebrated 54 years of marriage and were blessed with 5 children ,10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who adored him, and were inspired by his faith and cheerfulness.

Throughout his life, AL exemplified generosity and selflessness. He lovingly cared for his first wife Gerrie during her struggle with rheumatoid arthritis providing her with unwavering love and support until her passing in 2003. He had that same dedication to his second wife Florence, standing by her side until her passing in 2023.

A devout Catholic, Al’s faith was center to his life. He attended mass weekly and for years he attended daily mass. His unwavering faith guided his actions and served as an example to those who knew him. Al’s life was a reflection of the values he held dear: dedication to the faith, love for family, to living life fully.  While we deeply mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind -a legacy of love, humor, and generosity.

Al was a proud veteran of World War II. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and worked at the Kresge Company, then Pitman Moore (Dow) before retiring with Holt, Reinhart and Winston.  Al loved gardening and music, especially big band and Dixieland jazz. Al spent his retirement years at Sabal Pine in Delray Beach Florida. He considered the people of Sabal Pine his second family.

Al was a man of vitality and resilience playing tennis into his 90s and swimming laps in the pool at Sabal Pine until his 98th birthday. He embraced life with a youthful spirit that inspired those around him.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Gerald LeFevre, Susan Marie Walsh, David (Ginger) LeFevre, Kathleen (Daniel) Luplow, Barbara Benson, many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service is planned for this May and will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan. Those wishing to make a donation in honor of Al’s life may consider Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
