Joan Carol Kauer
Joan Carol Kauer, 79, of James Twp., passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Avista Nursing Center.
Joan was born in Saginaw on June 12, 1942, the daughter of the late Theodore and Katherine (Bruns) Wolderzak. Joan graduated from SS. Peter and Paul High School. She worked as a tailor and seamstress for most of her life at local men’s and bridal shops. Joan enjoyed antique car shows, roller skating, and an occasional trip to the casino.
Joan will forever be missed by her daughter, Renee LaLonde; grandchildren, John R. Kauer, Joseph Kauer, and Mary (Eric) Chapman; great-grandchildren, Emma and Eli Chapman; her sister, Judith Bamberg, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by the love of her life, James Palek; her devoted partner in life who doted on her every need.
Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son, John L. Kauer and her siblings, Donald Wolderzak and Barbara Bourdow.
Joan’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Holy Spirit Church, 1035 North River Road, Saginaw from 10:00 AM until her 11:00 AM Memorial Liturgy. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will preside with the Rite of Committal to be held privately at a later date.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Avista Nursing Center for their excellent care and extreme kindness given to Joan and her family during this difficult time.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot.
