Francesca Margaret Lucio
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 in Salem, Virginia. She was 89 years old. Francesca Margaret Espinoza was born in Coleman, Michigan on July 31, 1931. She is the daughter of Richard Espinoza and Delores Luna. She married Toribio “Toby” Garcia Lucio on December 29th, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saginaw, MI. He preceded her in death on September 25th, 2007. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed participating with the League of Catholic Women. During her stay in Salem, VA, she attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In her early years she was a bilingual teacher to migrants. She loved God and her family.
Margaret is survived by her children: Jerry (Sherrie) Lucio of Saginaw, MI; Veronica (David) Grande of Ventura, CA; Lorraine (Dale) Hendley of Salem, VA; Monica Lucio of Austin, TX; Suzanne (Michael) Neu of Pinconning, MI and Sandra Lucio of Saginaw, MI. She had five grandchildren, Gina, Jorge, Anthony, Adam and Katie. She also had five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind cousins and dear friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Richard Espinoza, her mother, Delores Luna; her husband, Toribio “Toby” Garcia Lucio; and her siblings, Richard Espinoza, David Espinoza and Sally Vasquez. Her surviving sister is Josephine Romero of Houston, TX.
FUNERAL: A funeral service for Margaret will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17th, 2021 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, MI 48609. Mass will begin at 11:00 am by Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny who will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends and family are welcome to gather at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with mandated ordinances, face masks will be required, social distancing observed and limits on attendance enforced.
