John "Jack" Bartlett
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at Covenant Medical Center Harrison. Age 95 years. Son of the late Wallace and Illa (Hickey) Bartlett, John was born March 11, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. Jack served proudly in the U.S. Army. He married Muriel M. Dark, his loving wife of 73 years, on July 7, 1951. She survives him. Jack was the business manager at Draper Chevrolet retiring in 1991. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Kiwanis Club. Jack enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, dancing, bowling and car shows.
Surviving besides his wife Muriel are one son and two daughters, Greg and Amy Bartlett, Midland; Karen and Doug Haenlein, Thomas Twp.; Trisha Buda, Thomas Twp.; two daughters-in-law, Diane Bartlett, Freeland; Gerrie Bartlett, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Heather and Trevor Szafranski, Matthew Haenlein and Jackie Delbrugge, Aricka and Will Schweitzer, Scott and Rachael Bartlett, Gregory and Kat Bartlett, Eric Handeguand, Rylee Handeguand; eight great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Richard Dark; several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and Thomas Bartlett; a grandson Ryan Bartlett; a son- in-law, Kevin Buda; one sister, Nancy Yeager; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Edward and Raymond Dark.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 12:00 noon Friday, July 19, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church,1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A committal service will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m. Friday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Holy Spirit Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
