Paul A. Yelle
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home. Age 84 years. The son of the late Peter and Grace (Naffie) Yelle, Paul was born August 13, 1936. He attended St. James School in Bay City. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. He married Diana J. Carl on January 25, 1969. She survives him. He had been employed at Grey Iron Foundry for 35 years. Paul was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, 4th Degree Msgr. Horton Assembly, Sons of Italy, and Moose Lodge #82. He enjoyed golf, bowling and woodworking.
Surviving besides his wife Diana are three daughters and two sons, Theresa Gall, Essexville; Stephanie (Michael) Whitten, Saginaw; Paul A. (Jennifer) Yelle, Texas; Gregory F. (Michelle) Yelle, Texas; Katrina (Robert) Brugge, Freeland; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Patricia Kirk, Flint; many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Gall; three sisters, Jeanette Whitson, Karen Hentzell and Joan Parker; one brother, Albert Yelle and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. James W. Bessert will officiate. Entombment will take place in Chapel Hill Mausoleum with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post # 439. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed.
