Roger Leo Lichon
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison Campus. Age 83 years. Son of the late Leo and Josephine (Zak) Lichon, Roger was born August 19, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was married to Nancy Ann Poineau, his loving wife of 60 years, on May 2, 1959. She survives him. Roger graduated from Central Michigan University in 1958. He was a financial advisor for Abbs Financial and received many outstanding awards. Roger was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was James Township Clerk for 42 years and Bay Harbor Condo Association President. Roger was a licensed pilot for 6 years. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and especially his family.
Surviving besides his wife Nancy are four sons, Paul (Lora) Lichon, Saginaw; Michael (Angie) Lichon, Gregory; Steve (Nancy) Lichon, Hazel Park; Matthew Lichon and his fiancé, Paula Klimkewicz, Wixom; six grandchildren, Curt, Rachel, Zack, Ben, Amanda and Samantha; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Declan and Isaac; three brothers, Dr. James (Ceil) Lichon, Petosky; Dr. William (Penny) Lichon, Saginaw; Charles Lichon, Bay City; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Watz, Saginaw; Joan (Jerry)Wisniewski , Saginaw; a brother-in-law, George Poineau, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Lichon in 1937.
Honoring Mr. Lichon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 14, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
