Joseph Jay Bula
Passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, following a short illness. Age 80 years.
The son of the late June (Kelley) and Joseph Bula was born February 20,1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Jeanette Pauline Zwolensky, February 8, 1964. His wife of 58 years survives him. Joe served with the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1967. He was employed as a Branch Manager for Second Nation Bank, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member, advisor and past board member of the Mershon-Neumann Heritage Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Joe enjoyed fly fishing, fly tying, running, reading, sports and vintage stamp collecting. He enjoyed bird watching and his pet parrot. Most of all, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons, watching their sporting events and accomplishments.
Surviving besides his wife, Jeanette, are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kelley J. Bula; Kristin L. and Leonard Walter Tuttle; three grandchildren, Trevor A. Tuttle, Jacob L. Tuttle, Logan C. Tuttle; his brother and sister and their spouses, Robert and Debbie Bula; Mary Lou and Robert Feldotte; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Carole Zwolensky, Sue Cain; several nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law, Dale Cain, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Arlene Zwolensky have predeceased him.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw, MI. 48609. Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with military burial in St. Andrew Cemetery under the auspices of the American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit with family at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday where a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit at the church from 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
