Bernard Wenzel

Passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019, at his home. Age 92 years.

The son of the late Catherine (Callahan) and Adolph Wenzel was born December 2, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Margaret Davis, May 24, 1952. She passed away October 14, 1994. Bernard served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed as an electrician with Saginaw Control and Engineering. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and working in his yard and house.

Surviving are six children and their spouses, Janet and Donald Frost; David Wenzel; Lugene and Dan Duquette; Krist and Karen Wenzel; Brian and Becky Wenzel; Linda and Rick Wiles; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle Frost; Ashley King; Chad and Amanda Wenzel; Caila and Josh Jacobs; Brian Wenzel; Aaron and Jenny Wenzel; Haley Wenzel; Amber and Bobby Nadeau; William, Benjamin, Caleb and Nathaniel Wiles; five great grandchildren; several niece, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Lynsey Frost and Bobby Wenzel, three sisters and a brother, Junella Bell, Frances Sloboda, Catherine Bell and Chester Wenzel.

The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Military burial will be in Owen Cemetery under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday where the Parish Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then visit at the church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
