Rosalie Richir

Rosalie Ann Richir, 81, of Saginaw died Thursday August 8, 2019 at Samaritas Senior Living, formerly Luther Manor. Rosalie was born to parents Nansen J. and Grace M. (Favara) DiMercurio on April 2, 1938 in Saginaw. She was the middle child of three children. Rosalie attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School and graduated from St. Andrew Catholic High School, Saginaw.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Leo L. Richir. She was also predeceased by her sisters in law Frances M. DiMercurio and Bonnie Richir Ruthig. She is survived by her brothers John J. DiMercurio (Sandy), Saginaw, MI and Col. Peter N. DiMercurio, U.S. Army (Ret) (Kathy), Traverse City, MI, brother in-law Win and sister in-law Mary “Pete” Richir Case, Saginaw as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Rosalie was affable, compassionate, caring, engaging, funny, generous, happy and kind. She had a signature loud and infectious laugh and was rarely a stranger in any environment. She was industrious and team oriented as she and her capable husband Leo operated her own jewelry business for many years.

The staff at Samaritas literally embraced Rosalie during her tenure. Gregarious, impressionable and at times, an unofficial greeter, as she often welcomed daily visitors to Samaritas with a joyful “hello”. Rosalie enjoyed many activities and took on new challenges with energy.

Wherever Rosalie is she will have them singing and toe tapping before long.
