Michelle Renee Nugent

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare- Harrison. She was 64 years old. Michelle Renee McMall was born on March 13, 1956, in Saginaw, Michigan, to James Lee and Shirley Elaine (Brethauer) McMall. She was a proud 1974 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. She married the love of her life, James H. Nugent Jr. in September 1976; he survives her. Michelle was employed as the friendly front desk supervisor with K-Mart for over 30 years. She always had a smile on her face and had an innate ability to communicate and connect with anyone she served. Michelle was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #497. She enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, gardening, and traveling. Michelle was also a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. Above all, she loved and cherished her family and spending time with her Thursday night group.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, James H. Nugent of Saginaw; four children: Laura (Steven) Ellis of MD; Jennifer Nugent of Saginaw; James H. Nugent III of Saginaw; Robert (Dorothy) Nugent of Saginaw; mother, Shirley McMall of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Cassandra (Brad) West of MD; Garrett Ellis of MD; McKinley Nugent of Saginaw; Teagan Nugent of Saginaw; Connor Nugent of Saginaw; seven siblings: Tim (Chris) McMall of OK; Jamie Schultz of Saginaw; Joyce (Duane) Wilson of Saginaw; Michael McMall of FL; Thomas (Kay) McMall of NV; Audrey (Dale) Tuzas of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Lynn Nugent of Saginaw; and her beloved American Bull Dog, Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McMall; brother-in-law, Monroe Nugent; sister-in-law, Sheran Scholtz.

A funeral liturgy will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. Rick Bokinskie will officiate. Honoring Michelle’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Due to restrictions set forth by the State of Michigan and the worldwide health pandemic, all visitors must wear a face covering and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
