Gerald T. Dorr

Our beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home. He was 78 years old. Gerald Thomas Dorr was born on June 24, 1941 in Saginaw to the late Herbert A. and Edna R. (Gritz) Dorr. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family and reading the Detroit News. He loved to receive mail and take his weekly trips to McDonalds to enjoy a hamburger, fry, apple pie and decaf coffee.

He is survived by his brother, John (Phyllis) Dorr of Bridgeport; sister, Fran Jaenicke of Hemlock; nieces and nephews: Tracie Dorr, Michael (Karen) Dorr, Gary (Lisa) Jaenicke, Debra (Dennis) O’Connor, and Craig (Kate) Jaenicke; and great niece and great nephews: Alex and Dann O’Connor, and Koryn and Colton Jaenicke.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Clarence Jaenicke.

Gerald’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hopkins AFC Home and Hospice for the loving care that they have provided.

FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Marc Hopps will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hopkins AFC Home.
