Wayne F. Brandel
Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus. Age 90 years. The son of the late William and Frances (ReBarge) Brandel, Wayne was born on October 4, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and built the fireplace for General Mark Clark. Wayne married Diane F. Kolhagen on September 15, 1956 at St. George Catholic Church. She survives him. Wayne was the owner and operator of cemeteries in Ohio, West Virginia and Bay City, Michigan. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and American Legion Post #439. After retirement, Wayne enjoyed travelling through the U.S., going to the casino, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife, Diane are two sons and one daughter, Derek Brandel, Saginaw; Rocky Brandel, Phoenix, Arizona; Sally Anne (Jimmy) Ruiz, Saginaw; five grandchildren, his brother, John Brandel, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Brandel; 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Entombment will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum with Military Honors rendered by American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or American Legion Post #439.
