Marissa Knack
Loving daughter, sister and niece passed away suddenly at home, Sunday, June 9, 2024. Age 38 years. The daughter of Dr. T. Michael and Susan Knack, Marissa was born December 9, 1985 in Saginaw. She was a 2004 graduate of Nouvel High School with honors. She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in 2008 and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta and was on the executive board. Marissa continued to receive her master’s in law degree from Michigan State University in 2015. She was a paraprofessional in the Saginaw School system for several years and enjoyed working with young children. Marissa was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Saginaw Chapter and the Frankenmuth Chapter of the JC’s. She enjoyed her cats, going on the wildlife drive at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, loved the outdoors and water activities.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her parents, Dr. T. Michael and Susan Knack, Thomas Township; her sister, Laura and James Verburg and their children, Erin and Eli , West Olive, Michigan; her aunts and uncles, Janee and Hal Needham, Kathy and Dave Richardson, Connie and Tom Ruth, Carol and Gary Morgan, Steve and Brenda Skalla, John and Cathy Skalla; many cousins and her beloved cats, Teddy, Libby and Frisco. Marissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis Knack, June Rose Knack, Clarence and Jean Skalla.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Undercover Angels Animal Rescue of Saginaw or Chester Miller Elementary School.
