Terri L. Grierson

Beloved wife, mother and friend passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Toni & Trish Hospice House surrounded by her family. Age 58 years. The daughter of the late Ronald and Kay (Kissane) Kelly, Terri was born February 11, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Christopher Grierson, her loving husband of nearly 34 years, on September 13, 1986. He survives her. Terri earned her Associates Degree at Delta College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Theology at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Terri was employed as Director of Christian Service for the Diocese of Saginaw for 21 years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, volunteered for SPRED, served on the Michigan Catholic Conference Social Policy Commission, Diocesan Representative for Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Campaign for Human Development, traveled to West Africa with CRS to see and experience Rice Bowl donations in action, Board Member for the Saginaw Partnership Center, Y.E.S. Leadership Team and was appointed by Governor Snyder to serve on the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy for the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Terri enjoyed camping, playing cards and kayaking. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving besides her husband Chris are two daughters, Mollie and Joshua Allard, Madison Heights; Megan Grierson and partner Aaron Deshields, Detroit; one sister, Tammy and Bill Falardeau, Midland; several nieces and a nephew.

Terri’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the Toni & Trish Hospice House for their loving and compassionate care.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico and Rev. Fr. James Bessert will concelebrate and Rev. Fr. James Bessert will be Homilist. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. In accordance with State mandate ordinances, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed and due to capacity restrictions, public seating for the Funeral Mass may not be available. Friends may visit at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where the family will be present on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Margo Tayofa, M.S.Sp. and Linda Milco, will take place 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Toni & Trish Hospice House or Catholic Relief Services.
