Carol J. Collison

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, at New Hope Valley, at the age of 87. The daughter of the late Emily Agnes Morey and Kenneth Earl Morey, Carol was born on January 24, 1932, in Saginaw, Michigan. Carol graduated from St. Peter and Paul High School in 1950 where she met her late husband, Charles C. Collison. The high school sweethearts married on June 26, 1954, a union that lasted 62 years. Carol was a devoted wife and mother, talented artist who painted numerous works for family and friends, an accomplished seamstress, and a true friend to many. Carol loved to travel, work in her garden and was a longtime member of the Saginaw County Lawyers Auxiliary. After raising her children, Carol graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Saginaw Valley State University.

Carol was always most proud of the family she raised with Charles and her unwavering faith in God. Carol leaves five sons, two daughters, and their spouses, Jeffrey and Cindy Collison, Saginaw; Joseph and Martha Collison, Saginaw; Daniel and Kimberley Collison, Saginaw; Lynn and David Charping, Alma; Patrick Collison (Dawn Brandon), Macomb Township; Christine and Gary Clements, Saginaw; Charles Collison, Freeland; a daughter-in-law, Janice Collison, Saginaw; 19 grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren), Kathryn (Derrick), Kevin (Emily), Korinne (Dillon), Maggie, Jennifer (Justin), Adam, Andrew, Justin (Rachel), Amanda, Jamie (Kiel), Kenny (Kacie Vanderband), Jason (Hannah), Garrett, Paige, Rebecca, Rachel, Emily and Grace; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, David Morey; two sisters, Mary Ellen Manelis and Ronnie Newman; many nieces and nephews; and all her dear friends at New Hope Valley. She was preceded in death by her brother James Morey, and her sister Lois Mrozinski.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2019 at St. Dominic Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Honoring Carol’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 4:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
