Beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was 88 years old.
Paul was born on March 23, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late John and Florence (Weighman) Krukowski. A proud graduate of Holy Rosary High School, he cherished the lifelong friendships he formed there. He faithfully gathered with his classmates for monthly card games and was instrumental in organizing class reunions.
On August 22, 1959, Paul married the love of his life, Jeanette Knoll. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Family was the foundation of Paul's life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. Whether welcoming family to his home or creating lasting memories at the family's Houghton Lake cottage, which they enjoyed for 44 years, Paul found his greatest happiness surrounded by his family.
Paul dedicated nearly 40 years of service to General Motors at the Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry, where he retired as a maintenance supervisor. Through hard work, determination, and integrity, he provided for his family and took great pride in everything he accomplished. He believed in working hard for the things he had and found satisfaction in caring for his home and beautifully landscaped yard throughout his retirement. Paul was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Paul was deeply proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed preserving family traditions, especially making homemade kielbasa at Easter and Christmas. He also loved the outdoors and looked forward to waterfowl hunting and salmon and steelhead fishing trips with his grandson, Jared, and his brother-in-law, Gerald Knoll. Paul was a fan of Michigan sporting teams-the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers but his fall Football Saturdays were spent watching and cheering for the Michigan Wolverines, whether attending the game at the Big House in Ann Arbor or simply watching from the comfort of his living room with his family. These moments became treasured memories that will be remembered for generations.
Surviving besides his wife Jeanette are one daughter and one son, Lynda Krukowski, Saginaw; Bryon (Leanna) Krukowski, Grand Rapids; two grandchildren, Jared (Taylor) Krukowski and Kathryn (Michael) Visconti; five great-grandchildren, Livia, Griffin and Berkley Krukowski and Cosette and Laine Visconti; a son-in-law, David Whalen; a sister, Barbara Dashner; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Frances Jo Knoll; many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Whalen; his siblings, Robert, Rita, Mary, Judy, Tim, Tom and Jeannie; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Lucille Knoll; his sister-law, Rita.
