Donna M. Taylor Meyer

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, Michigan. Age 101 years. Daughter of the late Alva and Leona (Trudeau) Roberts, Donna was born August 18, 1924, in Grayling, Michigan. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing as a registered nurse, and was involved in the Cadet Nurse Corps during WW II, being assigned to the Seattle Naval base. She was instrumental also with the formation of the Mother’s Club in Freeland. Donna was a born leader and organizer, adventurous, full of generosity and good humor, a positive, grateful person who genuinely liked people, a voracious reader, a lover of music and prayerful. She lived simply and shared lavishly with others, and many have benefited. She would like to leave behind this message: Be kind to each other.

Donna is survived by five children, Maureen (Richard) Pitt of Allendale; Patrick (Angie) Taylor of Baldwin; Jane (Gil) Bye of Sanford; Suzanne (Jim) Hitz of Auburn; Roberta Taylor (Jon) of Coleman. In addition, Donna leaves behind eight grandchildren: Ann Marie, Sara, Robin, Sunny, Audrey, Zach, Shannon, and James; 17 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Meghan, Nathan, Olivia, Tommy, Emma, Hunter, Carson, Chance, Colter, Gabi, Cameron, Brittany, Maddie, Erek, Henry, Ivaar; nine great-great grandchildren: Malaki, Hazel Rose, Daniel, Atlas, Bennett, Arlo, Levi, Emori and Riley. She also is survived by a sister, Mona Rose Friedle, and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by Carrol Bayne (“Bus”) Taylor, former husband, good friend, and the father of her children; Emil Meyer, husband; Alva Roberts Jr, brother; Evelyn Roberts, sister-in-law; Anne Christine, baby daughter; Timothy Bayne, grandson; Alexander, great-grandson.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20,2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Burial of Donna’s cremains will take place in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeland, Michigan. Donna’s family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
