Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away Monday, March 9, surrounded by her family. She was born December 23, 1935 to the late Alice (Brasseur) and
Walter Balewicz. Carol graduated from St. Andrew High School and married her one true love, Emmett on June 16, 1956. They shared 63 years of faith, love, and commitment before his passing on May 15, 2020. They devoted themselves wholeheartedly to their four children, their children's spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carol also treasured her dogs, especially sweet Elle. Her devotion and love for her family transcended through her delicious home cooking and baking and will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her son, two daughters and their spouses, Kevin (Nancy) Waier, Cheryl LeFevre, and Susan (Mark) Sikorski; nine grandchildren Ryan (Nicole) Waier, Jordan (Kristin) Waier, Taylor Waier, Steven (Jannita) LeFevre, Daniel (Courtney) LeFevre, Angela (Steven) Schreiner, Randy (Tonnya) Lange, Mitch (Hailey) Sikorski, Jenna (Avlok) Sikorski; nine great grandchildren; a sister Joan Green; several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Waier, two infant sons, sisters Patricia Plum and Ursuline Hoffman.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with entombment to follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The East Side Soup Kitchen.
