Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Saginaw. He was 87 years old. Harry Otto Jacob was born on August 26, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Otto and Kathleen (Griffore) Jacob. He married the lovely, Mary Jane Kordys, on September 16, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saginaw.
Harry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by General Motors and EDS, where he worked as an Engineering Manager, retiring in 1998 after many years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Harry had a passion for golf and also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and trips to the casino. He loved playing card games, especially Pinochle, Cribbage, and Euchre. A devoted family man, Harry spent many years coaching his children’s sports teams and never missed a game or sporting event for his children or grandchildren. He was a loyal fan of all Detroit sports teams. Above all else, Harry treasured the time he spent with his family and loved ones, which brought him his greatest joy.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Jacob; children, Matthew (Laurie) Jacob, Michael (Jennifer) Jacob, Eric (Laura) Jacob, and Sarah (Donald) Dagenais; grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Michael (Ariel), Taylor, Brianna (Cody), Luke (Parker), Nathan, Aubrie, Macie, Mylie, Sadie, and Donald; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Patricia) Jacob, and many nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Jacob and James Jacob.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, MI 48609 on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy.
