Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at age 60, surrounded by loved ones. Anne, born on September 6, 1965 in Owosso, Michigan, was a spirited daughter of the late John and Mary Lou (Price) Schantz. She was joined in a loving marriage with her soul mate, Laurence “Larry” Wade, on September 24, 1988. Together, they welcomed their beautiful daughters, Cassandra in 1994 and Ariana in 1997, to whom she was a caring Mother.
Anne was a devout Catholic, proud grandma, and voracious reader. In her youth she was a member of the “Western Riders” 4-H Club. She carried her love of her childhood horse B-Bob on to her daughters and the community, later becoming a 4-H leader and equestrian team coach for 20 years. Anne was a member of the cheer team and valedictorian of St. Charles class of 1983 before earning a bachelor’s degree in business from SVSU. Together with her husband, Anne owned two restaurants for over 20 years while caring deeply for her employees. In retirement she found gratification tending to the bushes on her family’s blueberry farm and greeting customers. As a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Anne faithfully served the Church as a lector, eucharistic minister, money counter, prayer line member, and funeral luncheon volunteer.
Anne is survived by her husband Larry; two daughters Cassandra (Ethan Patterson) Wade, Saginaw and Ariana (Josh Tatro) Wade, Grand Rapids; one granddaughter, Layneleigh; her siblings Rita Chad, Patricia Schantz, Dolores (Arnold) Koteskey, Edward (Laura) Schantz, Andrew (Darlene) Schantz, Lois (Duane) Robertson, William Schantz, Daniel Schantz, Jeanette Bean, Frances (Brian) Hunt, Donna Schantz; her sisters-in-law Donna Schantz, Joanne Wade, and Marylou Hirschman; many nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou and John Schantz; mother and father-in-law Mary and Duane Wade; brothers, Vincent Schantz and John E. Schantz; and brother-in-law Robert Hirschman.
