Joan A. Kuligowski

 Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Thursday, August 24, 2023 surrounded by her family at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 87 years. Daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Cherry) Krawczak, Joan was born December 13, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to William M. Kuligowski, her loving husband of 57 years, on August 13, 1960. He predeceased her December 14, 2017. Joan was a telephone operator at Michigan Bell for 37 years.  She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and attending their events.

Surviving to cherish her memory are three sons and one daughter, Dr. Mark and Sonya Kuligowski, Harrietta, Michigan;  David Kuligowski, Saginaw; Chris and Michele Kuligowski, Saginaw,  her daughter, Martha Truscott, New York, New York; seven grandchildren, Sarah  Lester, Howell, Michigan; Matthew Kuligowski, Dallas, Texas; Eric Kuligowski, Royal Oak, Michigan; Justin Kuligowski, Saginaw; Joshua Kuligowski, Saginaw;  Alexis Kuligowski, Saginaw;  Allie Kuligowski, Saginaw; two great-grandsons, Grayson and Jameson Lester; her sister, Sandra Nesbitt, Los Angeles, California ; her sisters-in-law, Trudy  Condra, Dayton, Ohio; Doris Krawczak, Elk Grove, California;  several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kayleigh Kuligowski; three brothers and two sisters, Frank Krawczak, Clare Krawczak, Delores Tlalka, Vina Barnese and Norm Krawczak.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday , August 29, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Private burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
