Gerald "Jerry" Holihan

Gerald (Jerry) Holihan passed away on May 8, 2024.  Jerry was born to Alphonse and Ernestine (Girard) Holihan on December 2, 1936.  Jerry married the love of his life, Ruth Munson, on September 17, 1955 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  He worked as a hardware sales representative for Morley Brothers and Bostwick Braun for 38 years, retiring in 2000.  He was president and served on the board of First Area Credit Union for 23 years.  Jerry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he served as an usher, eucharistic minister, and as a sponsor for engaged couples. 

Surviving are his three daughters, Corene Weiland, Lisa and Jeff Slominski, and Amy Holihan; five grandchildren, Josh Weiland and Adam Liberacki, Ashley and JT Schmidt, Mason and Samantha Slominski, Layne Slominski and Gage Slominski; three brothers, Richard Holihan, Nicholas and Diane Holihan, Tim and Lynn Holihan; five sisters, Jan and Den Birchmeier, Rosalie Rosenmeier, Brenda and Jim Rozek, Julienne and Frank Santrucek, and Sharleen and Mark Thiel. 

He was predeceased by his mother and father, his wife, Ruth Holihan; his daughter, Cheryl Holihan; one sister, Joyce Fournier; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Holihan and Betty Holihan; and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Fournier and Richard Rosenmeier.  

A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
