Michele Agnes Szok

Beloved, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away on Friday May 8, 2020 at her home in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The daughter of Wilma (Stefanovsky) Szok and the late Michael Szok. Michele was born May 24, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan. She completed her education at Ss. Peter and Paul High School and Central Michigan University with a degree in Biology. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an accomplished illustrator of nature, spending several summers on Beaver Island. Michele was a loved colleague at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant. Previous to Soaring Eagle she spent 23 years as a cloistered nun at the Carmelite Monastery of the Infant Jesus of Prague in Traverse City, Michigan. Michele found comfort in her faith, nature, music, art and family.

Surviving besides her mother Wilma are her sisters, Susan (Danny) Wolinski, Mary Fieger, Ann Chiappini and Jane (David) Frisque. She is also survived by her close friend and companion Alfred Card of 13 years. Michele never had children but cherished her nieces and nephews, Michael, John, Elizabeth (Karst), and Andrew Wolinski; Crista (Ligon), Gina (Anderson), and Angela (Zagunis) Chiappini; and Cassandra Frisque. She leaves behind many great nieces and nephews with many relatives from the Burba, Ciolek, Stefanovsky, Szok and Yeska families. Michele was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert Fieger and her nephew, Marc Chiappini.

Private interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
