Geraldine M. Ofstedal

Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 89 years. Daughter of the late Hillman and Pearl (Anderson) Pittman, Geraldine was born October 12, 1934 in Flint, Michigan. She was married to Bernard “Buck” Ofstedal Jr., her loving husband of 59 years, on October 20, 1951. He predeceased her November 19, 2010. Geri was a successful Beauty Salon Owner. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a 50 year member of the Moose. Geri enjoyed gardening, traveling, decorating, and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters, Dawn and Larry Waldie, Bay City; Dixie and Barry Stoklosa, Las Vegas, Nevada; a son-in-law, Michael Ducham and his wife Martha and their daughter, Michelle; six grandchildren, Heather Khanna, Holly and Ron Garofaio , Brei and Garrett Wilson, Jacindia and Chad Herner, Dana and Juan Saizarbitoria, Marina Waldie and her fiancé, Ryan Parker; 14 great-grandchildren, Nayan, Talin, Ruhie , Casimir, Brenn, Esme, Dominic, Celine, Cora, Tyson, Luna, Robyn, Mya, and Michael; a sister, Marlene and Jan Janiuk; many nieces and nephews. Geraldine was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ducham; her sisters, Ophelia Gilbert, Berlene Parker, Maxine Schultz, Margie Fruk and Doreen Pittman; and her brothers Othal, Eugene, Harold and Donald James Pittman.

Honoring Mrs. Ofstedal’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
