Gerald (Jerry) Holihan passed away on May 8, 2024.  Jerry was born to Alphonse and Ernestine (Girard) Holihan on December 2, 1936.  Jerry married the love of his life, Ruth Munson, on September 17, 1955 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  He worked as a hardware sales representative for Morley Brothers and Bostwick Braun for 38 years, retiring in 2000.  He was president and served on the board of First Area Credit Union for 23 years.  Jerry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he served as an usher, eucharistic minister, and as a sponsor for engaged couples. Mary Louise Richir was born August 30, 1931, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Leo F. Richir and Marie V. (Marlier) Richir. The family’s native language was French, and Mary’s sister Bonnie called the new baby “petite,” earning Mary the lifelong nickname of Pete. Mary had many fond childhood memories of times spent with her family and friends in St. Charles, including riding her bicycle there from Saginaw. She attended Saginaw public schools, graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1949. On February 9, 1951, she married Winfred L. Case, and they had 68 years of happy marriage.
