Gene spent countless hours volunteering at the Freeland Little League; building dugouts, concession stands, and coaching over the years. He was a lifetime member and longtime President of the Rabbit Breeders Association; Gene had over 47 years raising and showing rabbits. One of Gene’s favorite pastimes was following Indy Car Racing; he attended his first race in 1962 and his love passed on to his many other family members.
