She is survived by brother Larry Hendrick and many nieces and nephews. Carol was especially close to nieces Tricia Kovalik, Katherine Hickson, and Angela Miller. She loved dogs: first there was Toby, then she had Tulip (her bud). Sadly, she had to put her down in 2010 on Christmas morning.

Carol attended St. Mary’s Cathedral in Saginaw from 1st through 12th grade. She then went to Marygrove College in Detroit where she graduated with a B.S. in Medical Technology in 1960. She went on to receive a Master of Science degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1976. Carol worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Saginaw as well as University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor and Dow Chemical in Midland. She also spent one year on the Good Ship Hope in Ecuador on which she did hospital work and developed many long-lasting friendships.

Carol was listed in the 1965 edition of “Outstanding Young Women of America” and on the National Registry in Clinical Chemistry 1975-1980. She loved to travel and has been to many places around the world, including Africa. Carol enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and attended many tournaments around the Midwest. She loved the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana where she attended many football games and tailgate festivities. In retirement she volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital and participated in the READ program in Saginaw. Carol also helped out at Saginaw’s Castle Museum, the Soup Kitchen in Saginaw and the Saginaw Children’s Zoo. She was a long-time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Carol was a wonderful hostess to friends and family. She loved Saginaw and was proud to have spent most of her life there.
