What to do after Prop 3

Reminder of what happens under Prop 3.

In the span of this election, Michigan could go from a state with laws protecting the unborn and vulnerable women from abortion to a state that permanently guarantees unlimited, unregulated abortion. Proposal 3 goes far beyond just keeping abortion legal or reinstating the now overturned Roe v. Wade decision. It would allow abortions to be performed by anyone, at any point in pregnancy, and for any reason. It would throw away state laws regulating quality, safety, and inspections for abortion clinics. It would remove parental consent requirement for teens seeking abortions, and also teens seeking gender reassignment surgeries. Proposal 3 would move Michigan far from a society where human life is welcomed and where mothers do not have to turn to abortion. Voters must reject this extreme proposal and allow our state to build a culture that values all human life by supporting existing efforts led by pregnancy centers and Catholic Charities agencies to assist mothers in need. Below is a link to more information regarding this incredibly important fight for life in our State of Michigan.

Prayer from the "Eucharist - The Foundation of Ministry" Diocese of Saginaw Enrichment Day: Dobbs; Preparing for the Decision session.

Holy Trinity, Source of Life and Truth, we entrust our nation to You. We ask for mercy for the decades of legalied abortion that has been permitted in our land and for healing for all those who have been wounded by it. We ask that the sacredness of every human life be protected and upheld both in law and in culture. In a special way we commend to you the Justices of the Supreme Court. Please grant them clarity, wisdom, and courage to judge according to truth and right reason. We ask in a special way that You will be with the women and men who are suffering as a result of an abortion, those who are comtemplating ending their pregnancies right now, and for people that are pro-choice, that all will know Your love and compassion and amazing grace. Amen.

Could we see the end of abortion in America? (sourced from Praying for Dobbs)

In the USA, abortion takes the lives of over 600,000 babies a year. Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health could change that. The Mississippi law at stake in this case bans abortion after 15 weeks. The questions before the Supreme Court is whether all pre-viablity bans on elective abortions are unconstitutional.

This the case that could overturn Roe v. Wade. Nine Justices stand between life and death for millions of innocent children and their mothers.

What can we do? (sourced from Praying for Dobbs)

The most important thing we can do is to bend our kness in suplication to our Lord Jesus Christ, asking for the end to Roe, and to the brutal practice of abortion. We all need to pray without ceasing. In addition, we need to tell our friends and church communities to join us.
