Sharon C. Martin, 73, of Freeland, Michigan died Thursday January 26 2017 at home after a brief illness surround by her children. Sharon was born January 31, 1943 the daughter of Walter Mallak and Anna Reis, who preceded her in death.  Her son Kurt P. Martin, brothers Duane Napora, Harold Napora, Walter, Mallak Jr., and James Mallak also preceded her in death. She is survived by her remaining Son: Donald T. Martin (wife Kathy Martin) of Charlotte NC,  Son, Daniel W. Martin of Flat Rock, MI, and  Daughter, Diana M. Schmiegel of Saginaw, MI. Sharon had 5 grandchildren Amanda Martin, Douglas Martin, Adam, Patrick & Grace Schmiegel. Brothers, Gary Mallak, of Saginaw, MI and Thomas Mallak, of Vassar, MI.   Special Friend Florence Wirtz of Freeland, and several nieces and nephews. Sharon, graduated from St Peter and Paul Catholic High School, Saginaw then went on to obtain her Medical Assistant / Laboratory Tech degree from Dale Carnegie Institute and worked for Dr.'s Lohres and Bollen for several years before taking on & having a family of four children.  Later in life she was the Manger of Fanny Farmer in the Fashion Square Mall and Green Acres as well as Manager at Days Gone By.  She is a member of Holy Spirit Parish and served on the Women's Altar’s Society.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening was her passion and enjoyed traveling, bonfires, camping, and holidays meant a lot to her, she lived for her family.  She also enjoyed shopping.  Cooking and baking was also something that she enjoyed and everyone appreciated it beyond words and will be missed around the holidays.

 Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday January 30, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Oakwood Mausoleum, Saginaw. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A wake service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Covenant VNA Hospice or the donor’s favorite charity.
