John E. Cyborowski

John passed away on September 10, 2016 at the Cartwright Center surrounded by his family after a 2 ½ year battle with brain cancer.  John was 70 years old.  He was born on September 6, 1946 to the son of the late Joseph and Cleo Cyborowski in Saginaw. He was graduate of Saginaw High School in 1964 and received his associate degree at Delta College. He had been employed by the Saginaw County Sheriff Department prior to his retirement in 1999 he had served 26 years as a Police Officer.He was member of the SCLEA and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  He would tell you he enjoyed going to work every day.  John was with Val for 38 years and he married Valerie J. Wood on June 16, 1990, she survives him.

Most will remember John from all his good stories, being a prankster, having good deals and always trying to invent things. He was a very kind and special man. John enjoyed playing golf, and his days on his Harley Motorcycle.

John is survived by his wife Val, four children; John Cyborowski, Cynthia (Dave) Hales, Cassandra Ackley, Troy (Krista) Cyborowski, 12 grandchildren, Sonny, Sam, Savannah, Skyler, Austin, and Reese Cyborowski, Dominick Mace, Anthony, Michael, And Helena Ackley, Jennifer (Drew) Donner and Stephanine (Nick) Sweebe; 3 great grandchildren, Griffin, Lucas and Christopher Sweebe; 1 brother Robert (Lana) Cyborowski; a brother-in-law Jim (Laurie) Wood, 2 sister-in-law’s Sherry (Terry) Tucker, and Michele Essex; a special niece Jenny and her husband, 2 great nieces, and 1 great nephew, and many good friends.

He was preceded by his parents, and his in-laws Bill & Peg Wood who he had a very close relationship with.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Gaspeny officiating, burial to follow at St. Andrews Cemetery.  Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. and on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers an expression of sympathy may be considered to VNA Hospice, Cartwright Center, and Holy Spirit Church.
