Helen Cecelia Seman

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Shields Comfort Care. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Cecelia (Cawley) Foy, Helen was born August 28, 1925 in Hemlock, Michigan. She married Steven J. Seman on September 27, 1947. He predeceased her August 28, 1984. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Helen was employed at several clothing stores in Saginaw for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, camping and sewing and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are three daughters, one son and their spouses, Martha and Thomas Miller, Susan and Ray (Pete) Nelson, Steve Seman, Diane and Tim Robishaw; a daughter-in-law, Kellie Seman; 14 grandchildren, Thomas, John, Molly, Patrick, Daniel, Katherine, Blaise, Michael, Melody, Emily, Anna, Alec, Zachary and Nicole; nine great-grandchildren, Lily, Gibson, Mayle, Jenner, Evelyn, Benjamin, Claire, Annabel and Peyton; a sister, Margaret Ojezyk; several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Seman, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Seman, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Helen’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to her hospice workers, Jo Jo and Katie. 

Honoring Mrs. Seman’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Emmaus House or the Saginaw City Rescue Mission.
