Francis "Frank" Schrems

SCHREMS, Francis R. "Frank" - of Breckenridge, age 90, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at his residence. Mass will be Celebrated in memory of Frank 11AM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Pete Gaspeny officiating. Cremation to follow. Military honors will be performed under the direction of American Legion Post #295. Family will receive visitors at the Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM, and on Thursday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A prayer vigil will take place 7PM Wednesday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, or the American Red Cross.

Frank was born March 9, 1928 to Francis and Louise (Willing) Schrems. He married Lillian C. Klich on May 12, 1951. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2013. Frank served in the United States Army from 1950 until 1952. Frank worked for Markey Elliot Furniture Store and Georgetown Manor-Ethan Allen until 1978. From 1978 until 1982 he worked for Tartan House of Furniture in Alma and earned the title of Vice President. Frank was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and ushered for 10 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #295 in Breckenridge. Frank enjoyed polka dancing, traveling to Florida and playing euchre, bean bags, and washers. He also enjoyed gardening and was known as a master tomato grower.

Surviving are: Children: David (Rose) Schrems, Robert (Gena) Schrems, Judy (Steve) Zietz, and Kristine (Steve Meehleder) Schrems; 8 grandchildren: Stephanie (Ken) Schrems, Heather (Mike) Schrems, Paul (Katie) Schrems, Kaylyn (Taran) Schrems, Kristi (Brandon) Zietz, Cody Zietz, Dilyn Schooley, and Jaidyn Schooley; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Agnes Rhode and Ruthann (Tom) Ezop.
