Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at HealthSource Saginaw with her family by her side. She was 97 years old. Edna R. Gritz was born on May 15, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles and Helen (Lengvanes) Gritz. She married Herbert A. Dorr; he preceded her in death on February 21, 1950. She was a former member of St. George Catholic Church and belonged to their Altar Society. She was also active in the League of Catholic Women and Local Union #467. Edna was a current member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was employed at Lufkin Rule as well as Chevrolet Saginaw Manufacturing. Edna loved working in her yard and gardening. When she turned 90 years old, she bought a John Deere tractor and used it to mow her own lawn and plow her own driveway. Above all, Edna loved and cherished her family.
