Bonnie Jeanne Benemann

Passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 71 years. The daughter of the late Kenneth and Lorraine (LaPorte) Haggerty, Bonnie was born September 2, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married DeVaughn Benemann on September 4, 1965. He survives her. Bonnie was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital and the office of Dr. John Johnson. Bonnie returned to Covenant HealthCare (St. Luke’s) where she retired in 2007. Bonnie enjoyed her summers at Sandy Shores Resort where she was active in the Youth Committee because she loved children.

Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Lisa and Rick Lesnich, Saginaw; Todd Benemann and Jon and Stacey (Prezzato) Benemann, all of Saginaw; five grandchildren, Daisy, Jenna, Hannah, Joshua and Evan; dear friend, Kim Vaillancourt, with whom Bonnie made her home; one brother, Kenneth and Trina Haggerty, Hemlock; one brother-in-law, Steven Reid, Saginaw; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Lenora (Haggerty) Reid, and by her niece, Amy Haggerty.

Bonnie’s family would like to thank The Care Team Hospice and Bonnie’s great friend, Sally (Frieda) Hornsby, for the wonderful care they provided for Bonnie. 

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Honoring Bonnie’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Care Team Hospice, Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the charity of their choice.
